"Women over 30 DON'T LOOK in mirrors"

"I am not afraid of aging, but more afraid of people's reactions to my aging."
(Barbara Hershey)
"The woman who tells her age is either too young to have anything to lose or too old to have anything to gain. "(Chinese proverb)
"Will Americans want to watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis? And that woman, by the way, is not going to want to look like she’s getting older, because it will impact poll numbers." Rush Limbaugh 2007 (about Hillary Clinton)

Most anit-aging adds target women. Why? Men physically age the same way, the wrinkles, hair loss and discoloring, and the other aging traits. Why is such a natural thing so shunned upon. ITS GOING TO HAPPEN PEOPLE! Media really takes a hold on people when you find yourself (like I have) looking in the mirror, viciously searching for wrinkles, age spots, and gray hairs at ages as young as 20. Its even becoming more common for younger people ages 30 and below to get botox! That is pretty crazy.
Ageism, is a type of discrimination based on age. In this case, if you age,(LIKE MOST PEOPLE DO) you are somehow less of a person, ugly, worthless, and even "better dead". As you can see from the dolly parton example, some women refuse to physically age. Her body is definitely aging but from the twenty-some plastic surgeries you couldn't guess her age. I even had to google it! Aging women always make me think of that guy at the fair that guesses ages for like two dollars. Today, if you are over 30 and he can guess your age, you aren't doing something right. Dolly Parton is 63 by the way. From personal experience aging has hit home. My grandpa left his wife who was in her forties, (and still very beautiful) for a woman in her twenties. This woman was the same age and his youngest son. This is a stereotype of aging men, but it sometimes happen. It also happens inversely. According to this video young men that date older women have "impaired judgment".

Men do have side effects due to aging (except loss of testosterone)but, they age and its not big deal in most cases. I hate knowing, when I get older ill only be known as either the old maid nextdoor or the crazy old cat lady next door.

Part of previous blog

Here is a pretty interesting song, that kind of fits with the previous post.
I found in on youtube and thought it was a little strange but somewhat decent.

What would you do?

What if you were on a midnight study break dinner run, at literally midnight, and you saw a young girl around your age walking in the dark rainy night? You pass her and hesitate to turn around but keep going because well, some people are crazy and you don't want to end up dead trying to help some stranger out.
Well, I was unfortunately hesitant to stop but did. This girl was between 18-30 and appeared to be very troubled. She had several bruises on her face and just looked so scared. When my boyfriend and I, offered her a ride, she didn't hesitate but kept looking behind, like she was worried about someone driving up behind us. I asked if everything was ok, she said her boyfriend, "put her out". I didn't really question her any further (even though I was dying to ask did he assault her?) We dropped her off at her sister's house a few miles away. She literally walked past my house before we picked her up. I normally don't go out so late on a school night but, I'm glad I did. What really happened though? I'm not nosy, but seeing something like this hits home. This is something most people only see on cops. This even happened on the road I live on. I have never met this girl but felt her pain and struggle.
According to NCDOA Council for Women/Domestic Violence Commission, in 2007-2008 there were 101,076 domestic crisis hot-line calls in the state of North Carolina. Only 41,787 people were clients of the departments aid. 35,525 were female and 6,262 male. Obviously women are the majority of victims in Domestic violence cases. As a female, these numbers are scary. You would like to say, "that will never be me", or "I'm to strong to let someone beat me up", and I have even heard, "I'd kick his ass before he would kick mine". Yes, I am putting males as the offenders here. In most cases, not all, they preform the domestic violence against women. Those already victimized by culture such as women, are the victims of violence. "Abuse is never a one time event",(domesticviolence.org)
